Thomas was the son of Col. James F. and Elizabeth Carlock Fancher. They came to Carroll Co., AR ca 1837. He married Elizabeth B. Sneed on June 9, 1857 in Osage. They raised a family of ten children there.
1 Sergeant, Co. A, Harrell's Battalion, Arkansas Cavalry, Co. A., M376 roll 8.
1st Lt., Company A, Herrell's Battalion, Cabbells Brig., Fourth Arkansas Infantry, CSA. He fought in the Battles of Prairie Grove, Poison Springs, and Marks Mills. His unit was disbanded in TX in 1865.
Thomas died from complications after being stabbed by a fellow Mason. He was a Master Mason.
