Known as "Junior" for many years, he preferred to be called Orville later in life. Orville never married. He enjoyed boating, lived in a trailer parked at his mother's home in Maywood, California, and later lived in a trailer park in Kingman, Arizona. Orville was a very nice man, played the organ beautifully, and is fondly remembered.

Orville is laid to rest beside his mother, Irma Aureen Adelia Nelson Paulsen Alexander.
