Mrs. Johanna Rivers, 78, died of a stroke at her home Saturday at 6:30 a.m. She had been ill several months.
The former Johanna Johns, she was born Nov. 11, 1888, at Rushford to Jacob and Theresa Johns. She was married to Edward Rivers Sr. June 22, 1909, at Rushford.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Rosary Society, St. Theresa's Auxiliary and Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary.
Surviving are: Six sons, Edward, Wilfred and Paul, Rollingstone; Bernard and Arthur, Dayton, Ohio, and Norbert, Rochester; two daughters, Sister Mary Johanna, St.
Priscilla Convent, Chicago, and Mrs. John (Alvira) Wissel, Dayton, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; a brother, George, in Canada, and a sister, Mrs. Rose Tiernan, Albertville. Her husband, a son, five sisters and four brothers have died.
