MISHAWAKA - Sandra Lee Schaut, 69, of Mishawaka, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Sandy was born in South Bend on May 30, 1942, to the late Theodore and Mattie (Stubbs) Barth.

On September 10, 1991, she married Richard Lee Schaut in Mishawaka, where he still lives today.

Sandy worked at Ball Band (later Uniroyal) as a Factory Supervisor. Besides her husband Dick, she is survived by a daughter, Laurie A. Copp, and a granddaughter, Tiffany L. Copp, both of Mishawaka; a sister, Frances E. Westwood, and a nephew, Edward C. (Mary) Westwood, both of Rochester, IN; a niece, Evelyn (John) Mann of Wolf Point, MT; two great-nephews, Scott A. (Chris) Westwood and their children of Rochester, and Cole T. (Laura) Westwood and their children of Michigan; and two great-nieces, Kimberly A. Westwood and Angela M. Westwood, and her children, both of Rochester; as well as her four-legged grandchildren.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
