Charles Everett Bentley, 85, died in Pulaski Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Bland county, the son of the late William Franklin "Frank" Bentley and Martha Jane Green Bentley, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Dobbins Bentley; five sons, Dewey Bentley and Edgar Bentley both of Hopewell, Va.; Frank Bentley, Kansas City, Mo.; Clarence Bentley and Roy Bentley both of Pulaski; one foster son, Cherman Smith, Pulaski; five daughters, Mrs. J.A. Rupe, Mrs. Phillip Dunnigan, Mrs. Sydney Fanning, Mrs. Lawrence Pugh, Miss Roxie Bently, all of Pulaski; one brother Robert Bentley, Pulaski; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Dobbins, Pulaski; Mrs. Kelley Brewer, Radford; and Mrs. Margaret Edwards, Morristown, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday at 2:30 pm from the East Main Street Church of God, with Rev. T.O. Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The body will remain at Thomas M. Seagle and Sons Funeral Home until one hour before services.
