Vernon L. "Shorty" Alexander, 80, entered into rest Thursday, January 28, 2010 at his Crystal City residence. Born July 18, 1929, in Desloge, Missouri, to the late John & Lucille (Strickland) Alexander. He was retired mechanic at K & K Car Repair, Arnold, Missouri and was a member of District # 9 Machinist Union.
He is survived by loving wife, Thelma (McNece) Alexander; sons: Michael (Jessica) Alexander of DeSoto, MO, Tony (Lori) Alexander of Lemay, MO and John (Angela) Alexander of Crystal City, MO; daughter, Karla Barton of Herman, MO; brother, Robert (Mamie) Alexander of DeSoto, MO; sister, Sandra (Rex) Dye of Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Carl Alexander and sister, Juanita Martin.
