Axel's parents were born in Poland. He was born in Saxon, Iron County, Wisconsin on 30 Apr 1893. He served in the US Army during WWI, He served in the U.S. Army from March 19, 1918 to March 31, 1919. His service Number was 2089 528, he served as a PVT in Battery A, 108th, French Mortar Division. his draft record was dated June 5, 1917. He married Genevieve Cecile Shea on Oct 20, 1920 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montreal, Wis. by the late Rev (Father) John Nawa. Axel preceded his wife in death, on July 22, 1950. Her father Tim Shea is also buried in St Mary Cemetery in Hurley. In the 1930 Federal Census he is listed as an electrician working in an iron mine for the Monteal Mining Co. He was married 20 Oct 1920 in Montreal, Iron County, Wisconsin to Genevieve Cecile Shea. Alex died 22 Jul 1950 in Ironwood, Iron County, Wisconsin.
