Frances Ann Wilson McGillem, 88, of West Lafayette, died at 9:15 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2011. Born August 29, 1922 in Charleston, IL, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Alvira Dunn Wilson. She grew up in Frankfort, IN and graduated from Frankfort High School. She married Professor Clare D. McGillem on November 29, 1947 in Frankfort and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1999. She resided in West Lafayette for 48 years. Mrs. McGillem worked as a stenographer for the city of Indianapolis and for the U.S. Military and was a homemaker. She led an active life with Lafayette Duplicate Bridge Club where she was a Lifemaster and the Vice President on the board of the Lafayette Duplicate Bridge Club. She won many awards and trophies through the years. She was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed watching football, basketball, golf, and tennis, her favorite player was Nadal. She resided with her daughter, Mary Ann Kolenda (husband, Mike) of West Lafayette. Also surviving are her two grandsons, Justin and Jordan Kolenda, and Sophie, her beloved dog.
