First son, second child of six children of Capt. Francis K. Lockett and Lydia "Lillie" Hickman 1803-abt1870, him from Virginia and her from Franklin County, Kentucky, and both died in Henderson County, Kentucky. They had four sons and two daughters before her death sometime after 1870. No record of her death and burial has been found, but she is probably buried in this cemetery.

John's father, Capt. Frank, had already been married once before and was a widower when he met Lillie. Capt. Frank already had eight children with his first wife, Martha Goode Marshall 1787-1828.

Capt. Frank then married Lydia "Lillie" Hickman 1803-abt 1870, on Feb 22, 1831 in Henderson, Kentucky. Her grandfather Rev. Lt. William Hicklman 1747-1834 served as a Chaplin in the American Revolutionary War, and Hickman County, Kentucky is named for her Uncle Paschal Hickman 1783-1813.

The Reverend, lawyer and Judge Paschal Hickman Lockett was named for his mother's uncle Paschal Hickman, who Hickman County, Kentucky was named for.
