Teresa Blanco, 68, passed away on January 23, 2011 after her fourth hard-fought battle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband, General Lucio Blanco (Peruvian Army, Retired); daughter, Maria Teresa Lensing (Brad); sons, Lucio A. Blanco (Rebecca Rosa) and Juan Diego Blanco; grandchildren, Lucio Blanco and Ethan Lensing; and eleven brothers and sisters.

Teresa resided most of her life in Lima, Peru, and utilized her position as the wife of the head of Peruvian army's transportation services to work with the office of the president to bring attention to the needs of Peru's poor and needy.

She left everything behind in 1993 to come to Memphis to save her youngest son's life.

She was an exemplary woman and dedicated mother. She had a special love for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and helped the Sisters of Charity, as well as being heavily involved in the ministries of the Catholic Diocese of Memphis.

Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
