Jeanette Susanna Bouma
CHOTEAU - Jeanette Susanne (Spoelder) Bouma, 92, a homemaker, died of natural causes Monday at the Choteau family farm.

Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today at Gorder Funeral Home in Choteau. Her funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday at the New Song Assembly of God Church, with burial in Choteau Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Herman; children Mary Ellen (Allen) Allbaugh of Tucson, Ariz., Peter (Marie) Bouma of Missoula, Ann (James) Stratton of Stoughton, Wis., Bill Ross of Wellpinit, Wash., Florence (Ron) Frady of Conover, N.C., Ed Bouma of Choteau, Howard Bouma of Great Falls and Joyce (Edwin) Kenney of Phoenix, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Jeanette was born March 3, 1911, near Choteau, at the Spoelder farm. She married Herman Bouma on Nov. 20, 1937. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past year at their farm east of Choteau.

Jeanette enjoyed an active life on the farm (both at Choteau and also the farm at Del Bonita on the Milk River), and was known for her hard work and strong faith. She was vibrant until shortly before her death, and was noted for her caring and generous nature, devotion to the farm and twinkling blue eyes.

She enjoyed crocheting, taking pictures, reading history novels, writing letters, going to church and spending time with her many friends and family.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was surrounded by her family at her final hour.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
