Willard Curtis

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Camp Creek Church in Springfield for Willard Curtis of Springfield, who died Feb. 19 of age-related causes. He was 91. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield.

He was born April 23, 1920, in Azalea to Lester and Ella Rust Curtis. He married Eileen Vitus on Nov. 9, 1945, in Eugene. She died April 7, 2000.

He graduated from Triangle Lake High School. He served as a technical sergeant with the 247th combat engineers in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Booth-Kelly Lumber Company and Georgia-Pacific for 35 years as a chief logging engineer in the Springfield-Eugene division.

Survivors include a son, Craig of Springfield.

Burial will follow the funeral at Camp Creek Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Camp Creek Church or Sacred Heart Hospice.
