He was born in Clinton County, and in 1916 he married Effie Taylor, who died in 1950. He was married to Vida Ward in 1951 and she survives.
A retired farmer, he lived in Geetingsville prior to moving to Rossville in 1951.
Other survivors are two sons, Taylor, Frankfort; Maurice, Kirklin; a stepson, Junior Ward, Lafayette; and one sister, Mrs. Roxie Kelley, Whiting.
Three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren also survive. One sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
Burial was in Geetingsville with Rev. Robert Lutton and Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
