Grover C. Yount

City policeman of Frankfort, IN. for 12 years died Sunday June 21, 1942 at noon in the St. Elizabeth Hospital a Lafayette, IN. of heart trouble following an illness of six months duration.
Born near Mattix Cornor, Clinton County Grover C. Yount.
, June 17, 1887, he was the son of Curtis and Phoebe (Mattix) Yount. He was married twice . On August 8, 1908 he married Pearl Wenner, who passed away on July 4,1913.To this union was born one daughter, Ella Yount. Then married Iva Gable on March 4, 1921.
He lived near Mattix Cornor until he moved to Frankfort in 1921. For over a year he worked for the Nickel Plate shops and then the park staff for three years. In 1930 he became a Frankfort city policeman, retaining his job on the force until granted a leave this spring.
A member of the Elks lodge, he was very popular with the citizens of Frankfort. He had established a host of friends thought out the county. Members of police forces from surrounding cities will be here to pay respects. Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Ella Miller of Frankfort; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Cripe, Frankfort, and Mrs. Dewey Kelley, Whiting; three brothers, Benjamin Yount, Frankfort; Ora Yount,Geetingsville;and Hamilton Yount, Chicago; three grandchildren, Albert Jimmie, Curtis George, and Donald Eugene Miller, three nephews and two nieces.
