Agnes Bauder, 97, died May 30, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Care Center.

Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gray's West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave. Pastor Roger Scovil of the Baker City First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. There will be a reception afterward at the Baker City Christian Church, 675 Highway 7.

Agnes was born on a farm near Howard, S.D., on Jan. 12, 1910, to John and Magdalena Meyers. She was educated through the eighth grade in country schools and continued through high school.

She married Edward Bauder in January of 1936 at Rapid City, S.D. In 1937, they moved to a farm near Huron, S.D., where they farmed until moving to Baker City in 1952. They had three children: Keith, Mary Jane and Kathryn.

Agnes worked for the Baker Hotel for three years and then at Crown Cleaners where she worked until 1978. Upon retirement she spent many happy years volunteering for the Senior Center in Baker City.

She loved knitting, embroidering and doing crossword puzzles. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much happiness.

Survivors include her son, Keith, and his wife, Patsy, of Pilot Rock; daughters, Mary Jane Hackwith and her husband, Lee, of Baker City and Kathryn Dickison, and her husband, Wesley, of Baker City; grandchildren include Jonathon Bauder and his wife, Leslie, Renee Bauder and Alfredo, Jordan Hackwith and his wife, Kelly, Janna Shukle and her husband, Shane, Scott Dickison and his wife, Christine, and Randy Dickison, and his wife, Tara; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Emma Logsdon of La Grande; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant grandson; her parents; and eight sisters and brothers.
