A Mass of Christian Burial for John V. Bordelon will be on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Fr. Basil Burns officiating.

Burial will be in Pythian Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. and a Wake Service at 7:45 p.m. and on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 7:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.

Mr. Bordelon, age 84, of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012 in Rapides Regional Medical Center. He was a US Army veteran and owner of John's Body and Paint Shop.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Ponthier Bordelon.

He is survived by two sons, Larry Bordelon of Metairie and Anthony "Tony" Bordelon of LaPlace; two daughters, Linda Aney of Bunkie and Cathy Pennington of LaPlace; four brothers, Raymond Bordelon of Plaucheville, Floyd Bordelon of Metairie, Ewell Bordelon of Metairie and Winston Bordelon of Covington; two sisters, Jeanette Rabalais of Covington and Carol Ann Taylor of Plaucheville; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
