Raymond Joseph Bordelon passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the age of 86.

He will be missed by his ex-wife and friend, Merline Bordelon Olivier; his daughters: Deborah Bordelon, Nancy Muller (Ricky), and Barbara Frye (late, Joseph); grandchildren: Shannon Collins (Brian), Angela McGinty (Evan), Jessica Isaacson (Jonathon), Jaimie Schmidt, and Jena Norris (Joshua); great-grandchildren: Soryn Collins, Audrey Kemp, Brooke Norris, Sylvan Collins, Dixie McGinty, Raymond Collins, Knox McGinty, Savannah McGinty, Maverick McGinty, Kennedy Norris, Mia Norris, Parker Norris, Josephine Isaacson, and Baby A; his siblings: Floyd Bordelon (Fay), Winston Bordelon (Fay), and Carol Bordelon Taylor (late, Lawrence "Chock") as well as many other loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Scully Joseph Bordelon and Cora Lee "Verdie" Firmin Bordelon; his daughters: Julianne Bordelon and Julie Elizabeth Bordelon; and his siblings: James Bordelon (late, Helen), Steve Bordelon (Rosemary), John "Jake" Bordelon (late, Gertrude), Ewell Bordelon (late, Mary "Jeannette"), Sable Bordelon Ducote (late, Vernon), Jeanette Bordelon Rabalais (late, Wlitz "Red"), Jude Bordelon (late, Henrietta), and Ronald Bordelon (Sandra).

Raymond resided in Harahan, LA for 30+ years where he loved and raised his family. After retiring, he moved back to his family home in Plaucheville, LA.

While there, he loved raising cattle, farming, and enjoyed living in the country. In the last 10 years he has lived with his daughters in St. Tammany Parish where he spent a lot of time with his 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren lovingly calling them his "Rabbits".

He was naturally talented and innovative. His construction and mathematical skills allowed him to enlarge and renovate his family homes. Using his talents, he was always available to help family and friends in their time of need.

He was well known by his family and friends for his love of music, dancing and socializing. He is especially remembered for having a sensitive heart toward his grandchildren and babies.

Raymond worked at Pellerin Milnor for 30+ years where he was a skilled sheet metal foreman and craftsmen. He retired from his self-employed owned business, Bordelon Roofing.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind an amazingly strong legacy of love, family and caring for one another.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a service starting at 1:00 pm followed by interment.
