OBITUARY
John Pastoris Roderick was born in Pennsylvania on March 15, 1830. In his boyhood days he came with his parents to Adams County, Ohio. At this place he was married to Nancy J. Murray.
To this union were born six children, two of which died in childhood. Those living are: Eliza J. Kirkpatrick, James D. Roderick, Isabel C. Teegardin, and Edward S. Rodrick. With these he moved to Highland County, Ohio, where his wife died in 1867.
He was afterward married to Mary Zarley and moved to Illinois in 1872, from there to Kansas in 1882, and then to Oklahoma in 1894.
His wife preceded him to the better world about six years ago.
Mr. Roderick served in the Civil War for three years, 1862 to 1866, in Company E, First Ohio Infantry.
He was a charter member of the John M. Schfield Post of the G.A.R. of Nashville, Oklahoma. He was an ardent worker in the Methodist Church through all his life.
He died on October 1, 1911, aged 81 years, 6 months, and 16 days. Funeral services were held at the Hawley Methodist Church and interment in the Hawley Cemetery.
