Louise worked as a clerk at the Post Office in Barron with her dad, James Burton. She remained single until she met and married Herb Bartlett sometime in the 1930's. He built a lovely little home she called her cottage. They had no children but they were my neighbors all my single life.

Louise became the high school librarian while I was in school. She was such a beautiful soul. Her fingers were crooked from the arthritis she had and after Herb passed away I remember her calling our house to ask if someone could come open a bottle, jar or can. She used Halo Shampoo, I remember.

When it came time for her to leave home and to be under someone's care, I was married and we lived in her cute little cottage for a year. I felt it was an honor.

HOUSE PHOTO WAS SENT BY A BARTLETT RELATIVE. This is the place Herb built and was referred to as a cottage. Herb had painted Murals on the shower walls and the bedroom wall. Louise drove this car for many years.
