Mrs. Mary Saale, 71, went to be with "her Lord" on Mother's Day, May 10, 1998, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, Baton Rouge, LA, after a courageous battle from complications of cancer.
Mrs. Saale was a native of Castor, LA and graduated from Castor High School. She was born on August 23, 1926, to Albert M. and Irene Caskey Myrick Dare. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She touched everyone who knew her in special ways and lived life by example, always thinking and caring for others, sharing her homemade cookies, pies, cakes, and casseroles. She was always concerned about the spiritual condition of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Maurice A. Saale Sr. of Baton Rouge, LA; sons Maurice A. (Susan) Saale, Jr. of Baton Rouge and Mark A. (Joanne) Saale of Zachary, LA; grandchildren, Meredith, Melissa, and Andrew Saale of Baton Rouge, Steven and Rebecca Saale of Zachary; sisters Myrtice M. Dare, Bobbie M. Hataway, Laura M. Blackwelder; brothers, James C., Lawson L., J. Harold, W. Thomas, and Albert Myrick.
She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, Willie Pope Myrick and Roger Myrick; one step-brother, Myron N. Dare; step-father, Harold P. Dare.
Mary was an active member St. Jude Catholic Church, Baton Rouge. Mary was also an active member of the Baton Rouge Amateur Radio Club, her number being KA5MEC.
Services will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at St. Jude Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, LA.
