Betty Kramer, 55 years, of West Point, Iowa died Saturday morning, February 18, 2012 at her home. She was born November 6, 1956 at Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Cletus and Darlene (Kruse) Hellweg. On July 31, 1981, she married Randy Kramer at West Point, Iowa. Betty was a 1974 graduate of Fort Madison High School and lived all her life in the area. She worked for many years as a waitress, including at the 10th Street Station, the Cottage Café, and the American Legion. She was a member of St. Mary's of Assumption Catholic Church, West Point. She collected Precious Moments and Bearfoots. She and Randy loved to travel, and she collected rocks from many of those places.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Kramer, of West Point, Iowa; her mother, Darlene Hellweg, of Donnellson, Iowa; one son, Jason Kramer, of West Point, Iowa; one daughter, Jenny Kramer, of West Point, Iowa; one brother, John (wife Elena) Hellweg, of Fort Washington, Maryland; two grandchildren, Rylie and Kirsten; aunts, an uncle, a niece, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may call after 1:00 pm Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, West Point, where the family will greet friends from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Monday evening. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 4:00 pm Monday afternoon at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the St. Mary's of Assumption Catholic Church, West Point, with Reverend Dennis Hoffman, as Celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, West Point. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home or at the church.
