Geneva Zando Fiery, 90, of Glenwood Retirement Village, formerly of the Old Bluefield-Princeton Road, Princeton, died peacefully Monday, November 21, 2011 at her residence. Born February 15, 1921 at Nolan, she was the daughter of the late Robert Zando and Catherine Zando. Mrs. Fiery was a graduate of Williamson High School, Class of 1939 and received her Bachelor's degree from West Virginia University in Biology in 1944. During the War, Mrs. Fiery used her education to work in a Laboratory in Waukegan Ill and later return to Williamson where she worked in the Hospital for a short period of time. She and her late husband Howard moved to the Princeton area in 1949 to raise their family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Fiery was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Princeton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Howard Andrew Fiery along with three siblings;Dr Sixtus Zando, Abe Zando and Mary Vecellio. She will be lovingly remembered by her five children and their spouses,Howard Andrew "Andy & Deborah Fiery of Chesapeake VA, Michael A. & Ann Fiery of Huntington, Randolph Martin. & Leigh-Ann Fiery of Chesapeake VA, Nancy C. & Howard Burnette of Danville VA, R. C. "Courtney" & Diana Fiery of Bluefield VA; 6 Grandchildren, Michael, Laura, Blake, Matthew, Nathan & Rachel ; One sister,Nellie Bradley & husband Thomas "Buddy" of Roanoke VA. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 26, 2011 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Reverend Mr. Donald Hammond as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 507 Harrison Street, Princeton.
