Mayor. Ament, engaged in the harness business for thirty years, organized the Worthington Cornet Band and served several terms as mayor of the city.

Theodore married Elizabeth, dau. of Mr. & Mrs. Bernard Werdell, born in Joliet, IL, on March 17, 1862, on Jan. 25, 1887 in St. Paul's Church with Rev. J. B. Zigrang officiating, she married Theodore Ament. The couple settled on a farm and became parents of 12 children: Rev. E. P. Ament; Veronica (Mrs. John Pins); Clara (Mrs. Frank Baum); Albert; Ben; Leo; Herman; Lester; Frederick; Josephine; Arthur; and Leonard.
