Born January 18, 1931 in Frederick County, he was a son of the late William E. and Lillian Hays Stottlemyer.
He attended Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville.
He was a member of the South Mountain Rod and Gun Club, Smithsburg. He was a retired painter. He served with the U.S Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He is survived by one daughter and three sons, a sister and three brothers, sixteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Ellen Jackson, and one brother, Gordon Stottlemyer.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, September 4 at Ricketts Funeral Home, Myersville.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday September t at Grossnickle's Church of the Brethren, Myersville. The Rev. Dr. Ronald A. Beverlin will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
