Nappanee - Amanda Chupp Hochstetler, 73, 10881 W 1200 North, Bremen, died Wednesday at 5:10 am at Elkhart General Hospital after a short bout with leukemia.

She was born Sept 2, 1937 in Chouteau, Okla, to Ray C and Malinda P Borntrager Chupp. She moved to Indiana as a child.

On Oct 10, 1957, she married Jonas E Hochstetler in Nappanee. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jonas E Hochstetler; sons, Glen Ray (Martha) Hochstetler, Bremen, John Earl (Sara) Hochstetler, Nappanee, Duane Dean Hochstetler, Bremen, and Gary Lee Hochstetler, Nappanee; daughters, Rosetta Sue (Dale) Hochstetler, Bourbon, and Wanda Elaine (John) Kuhns, Bremen; 28 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence (Sara Jean) Chupp, Bremen; and sister, Mary (Ernest) Hochstetler, Nappanee.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call at the family residence after 2 pm today and all day Friday. The funeral service will take place Saturday at 9:30 am at the David Slabaugh residence, 10889 W 1350 North, Bremen. The home ministers of the Old Order Amish Church will lead the service. Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lamar Schmucker, Marlin Helmuth, Arlin Yoder, Jerry Slabaugh, Gerald Yoder and Leroy Bontrager.

Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, is assisting with arrangements.
