Alvin was born Nov. 4, 1907 at Rigby, Idaho. He died at 20 months of age from what was then termed "summer complaint" or "cholera infantum." Those who remembered Alvin nearly always spoke of his eyes; stunningly blue and deeply penetrating, they seemed to reflect a wisdom well beyond his years. He was also noted to be an especially cheerful and cooperative baby.

Alvin was originally buried in Lewisville, Idaho but his body was moved to Rigby in 1929 where he now rests at the side of his parents.
