Following graduation, joined the Navy, serving on the USS Salt Lake City. He was a long-time member of the LDS Church where he held several positions.
Married Marge F. Carey Sept. 18, 1938, and raised two children in the Los Angeles area while serving as an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. Later worked as a security guard and a wholesale distributor prior to retiring recently.
Survived by his wife of 43 years, son Harvey Wm. Harper, daughter Katherine Hicks, and eight grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Vilate Woods, Norma Morris, Ruth Bright, Marjorie Luke, and Eleanor Bell; and by brother, Murray C. Harper. Preceded in death by his parents and an older brother.
Services: Wed., Dec. 3, at the Yorba Linda First Ward LDS Church (Ohio St.), with Bp. Gale Faylor presiding. Internment: Temecula Cemetery.
