The spelling of Henry Rice's middle name has not been supported by a written source, to date, other than his military registration card, where he affirmed the spelling of 'Counsel' to be true (see photo). Also, using the spelling of his father's maternal grandfather's name, Counsel (Renfro), and the trusted word of one of his daughters, the conclusion is his middle name should be spelled 'Counsel' vs 'Council,' as reflected on his headstone. We are left to assume the misspelling was simply an error from a lack of knowing.

One sister, Tisha (Rice) Gresham, is not connected; burial currently unknown.
