Mrs. Annie Greening Dies in Son's Home
Shelbina, Mo., July 9. —Mrs. Annie Greening, 81, died here in the home of a son, Charles, Thursday evening at 8. She had been bedfast a week.
Mrs. Greening was born in Shelby county Sept. 9, 1866, a daughter of James and Caroline Clarkston She was married to Thomas Greening of north of Hunnewell on Sept. [sic/Oct.] 29, 1884. He died Sept. 25, 1935. Two daughters and four sisters and brothers also preceded her in death. Mrs. Greening was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are four sons, James and Charles of Shelbina, Roy (Dick) of Monroe City and Gus of Palmyra. There are 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are tentatively planned for Sunday afternoon at 2:30 C. S. T. in the Methodist church with the Rev. J. L. Shoemaker in charge. Burial will be in the city cemetery. A grandson, Merit Walker of Miami, Fla, is expected to arrive in time for the services.
