D.H. Benton, 65, Dies Suddenly

D.H. Benton, aged 65 years, while turning his cows out of the lot to go to the pasture, suffered a stroke of paralysis this (Saturday) morning at 6:30 o'clock. A physician was summoned but he was dead when he reached him. This was the third stroke. Mr. Benton is survived by his widow and eight children, Bun, Horace and Bill, Mrs. Eulerlene Purden, Mrs. Velma Davis and Mrs. Dorothy Ghent by the present wife, Mrs. Hettie Calhoun and Henry Benton by his first wife, also by six brothers, Jess of Searcy, Steve and Charley of Floyd, Jim of Romance, Wid of Rose Bud, Virgil of Texas, and one sister Mrs. Nannie Lewis of Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Foster's Chapel by Rev. J.M. Tallerington.
