Dora (Rudder) Denny was the youngest of 6 children born to Elizabeth (Barnett) and James Rudder. She was born on the family farm a few miles south of Salem. In 1854, at age 19 she married Jacob Denny and they raised 3 children; Maude, Lulu, and James. Husband Jacob was only 39 when he died in 1893. Dora died in 1943 in Pekin at age 84.
