son of HW & Harriet Farnsworth, Married Flora Fife and had children Hiram Fife, Janet (Stillman), James Stoddard and John Arthur.
Although his wife was a Mormon it seems that James did not convert.

Hiram, his father, named him for Watson Brown who was the son of John Brown of the raid on Harper's Ferry. Watson died as a result of the raid and James was born the following year.
Hiram was a devout abolitionist and named his children accordingly.

James was a bookkeeper. Working for Portland Cement.
