Burl Jones passed away at the Converse County Memorial Hospital early Monday morning, October 17. He was the only son of four children born to Tilden and Florence Jones. When Burl was still very young his family moved from Iowa to Wyoming. His first home in Wyoming was at Manderson where the family lived for a short time before moving to Basin. Burl completed elementary and high school in Basin. He was 21 years of age when his family moved to Douglas and it was here that he entered into business with his father. Mr. Jones attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Nebraska. Burl took as his bride, Marion Rose Page, on June 5, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. There were two children born to this union, Jeffery and Patricia. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Marion; a son, Jeffrey of Laguna Hills, California; a daughter, Patricia Missett of Carlsbad, California; his mother, Mrs. Florence Jones of Douglas; a sister, Mrs. Arlene Albaugh of Douglas; 4 grandchildren; several cousins and many friends. Preceding him in death were his father, Tilden Jones; his sisters, Verena and Chloris; and a nephew, Leland Standefer. (Information was obtained from his obituary and cemwetery records.)
