PEKIN - Nelson F. Beale, 90, of Pekin, Ill., passed away at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Timbercreek Rehab and Healthcare Center, in Pekin.
Nelson was born on Jan. 25, 1922, in Forest City, Ill., to Floyd Joseph and Ida Pauline (Carpenter) Beale.
He married Wilma Mae Drockelman on June 18, 1944, in Pekin. She died on Aug. 16, 1998. Also preceding him in death were his parents and three sisters, Lois Monge, Sherry Rockhold and Eileen Sours.
Surviving are one daughter, Cathie (Earl) Harkleroad; two brothers, Carl Beale and Jack (Joanne) Beale and one sister, Delta Lou Robinson.
Nelson was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Commonwealth Edison Powerton Station as a maintenance foreman. Nelson was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin. He also was a member of Pekin Moose Lodge 916 and Powerton Playboys and was past exalted ruler of Elks Lodge 1271. He enjoyed reading and playing cards.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Henderson Funeral Home, in Pekin. Officiating will be the Rev. Judy Doyle. Visitation will be one hour before services on Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens, in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 711 Court St., Pekin, IL 61554.
