She was the daughter of William Armour and Jane Jennet Faires, and her first husband was Jacob Allen Bryan, who fathered all ten of Malinda's children; he died in 1898 in Cooke County, Texas, and was buried there in Fairview Cemetery.
Malinda later remarried in 1905 to Robert Simeon Dameron, a childhood sweetheart from Lauderdale County, AL who also had migrated to Texas and had lost his spouse. "Sim", as he was called, is buried in Burleson Cemetery, Burleson, Texas, where he and Malinda lived for several years during their marriage.
Malinda suffered from dementia in her old age and was living with her daughter, Dewitt Brown, in Waco, Texas. Many nights Malinda thought she heard angels singing and would get up to look for them. The night of November 2, 1931, she got up and opened what she thought was a closet door, but it was the side door where the steps had not yet been built and she fell out of the house onto the ground. She broke no bones but the doctor was called and she was returned to her bed. He gave her a shot to calm her and diagnosed a coronary thrombosis. She died at 1 a.m. on November 3.
Malinda and Jacob Bryan were the parents of Dewitt Jeanette Bryan, who married Porter J. Brown and reared her family in Waco, Texas. Porter and Jeanette are the ancestors of all the Browns buried in Moore Cemetery.
