Mr. Jake Kemple, Martin's aged carpenter, died at his home there on Thursday of last week, following a brief illness of but a few days duration. Mr. Kemple was about sixty-five years of age and an honorable, christian gentleman. Funeral services were held at the Christian church on Friday by Brother Eph P. Smith, followed by interment at the Eastside cemetery. Two sons, Messrs. Herron and Eugene Kemple, survive him.
