Arthur Harvey Boatwright, 82, of Leesville, died Sunday, March 27, 2005. Born in Lexington County, he was a son of the late Harvey Boatwright and Minnie Craps Boatwright Ridgell. He was a member of Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, the Woodmen of the World, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and had retired from the commission of Public Works of Batesburg-Leesville with 50 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Murice Vermett Craps Boatwright; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Joan Boatwright, Jimmy and Rhonda Boatwright, Lonnie and Dee Boatwright; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Don Blackston of Georgia; stepsons and daughter-in-law, Maurice and Elizabeth Frick, Danny Frick, and Verley Ray Frick; brothers, Brady Boatwright of South Carolina and John Boatwright of Washington state; sisters, Lucille Ridgell and Lula Mae McKay; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday from Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, with Revs. Bill Pauling and Dennis Metts officiating.

Pallbearers were Ashley Boatwright, Kevin and Larry Frick, Eddie Craps, Leonard Price, and Carlton Alewine.
