Mary Sophia was the second wife of Jerome Charles Flick

They were married May 31,1892
------------------------------------------
She worked on the family farm until she married Jerome. The Sharp family was against Mary marrying Jerome and made comments like: "Why do you want to get married; you have a good life here" or "Why do you want to marry a widower with so many children." Mary however wanted a family. At Christmas Mary would dress up as Santa Claus. Her daughter Alma wasn't fooled as she related: "I knew it wasn't Santa Claus; I knew it mas my mother because I could see her apron underneath."

In 1898, Mary Sophia lost two sons and her mother all in a two week time period. Georgie died from Spinal Trouble (probably spinal meningitis), Robert from Cholera Infantum and Mary Margaret Denny Sharp from old age. Alma Flick Kline remembers a crying Jerome carrying out the dead body of Robert and saying "Why this one too."
