"The LaFayette Sun" - March 18, 1908:

In Memory.

In loving remembrance of Cousin Kate Poole, who departed this life March 5, 1908.
A good woman is gone and her loss we keenly feel. She was a woman of noble character and a Christian of unquestionable integrity, a loving wife and dutiful mother.
She leaves a devoted husband, one daughter and other relatives, besides a large concourse of friends to mourn her sad departure. All that loving hearts and hands could render was done, but found no relieve until our Savior summoned her to that beautiful city of rest. May our gracious Heavenly Father comfort and guide their loving hearts in this sad hour of bereavement.
Weep not, dear ones, but let one good consoling thought comfort you that dear Kate is with her Savior in Heaven, where there is no more pain nor sorrow to endure, but eternal rest.
Now her dear voice is hushed forever, her hands lie folded on a pulseless breast. The places that knew her here will know her no more forever. But in Heaven she is rejoicing with the angels, wearing a crown nobly earned.
She was laid to rest in Rock Spring Cemetery.

A dear one from us has flown,
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our hearts,
Which never can be filled.

- Sara Abernathy.
