Mrs. Annie Baal, widow of John Baal, died at the home at Sherrill's Mound Friday evening at 9:55 o'clock, following a lingering illness.
She was born in Byron, Germany, on June 15, 84 years ago, and came to this country when a girl with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Eckert, pioneers in Dubuque County.
She is survived by four daughters: Mesdames Louis Wetter and Fred Jungblut, Sherrill's Mound, Mesdames William Bluecher and Tom Ryan, this city; three sons, Joseph, Charles and John Baal, all of Sherrill's Mound, twenty-four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was a member of Sherrill's Mound Congregational Church and took great interest in all its departments. Her husband preceded her in death nine years ago.
The funeral will be held from the residence Monday morning at 10 o'clock to the Sherrill's Congregational Church at 10:30 o'clock. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery.
