He was the son of Wilson Thompson and Elizabeth (McWhorter) Thompson and married Emma F. Eslick - 25 Mar 1906 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. His obituary follows:

Elex Saint Thompson, age 80 years, passed away at his home in the 7th district of Lincoln County near Mimosa, Monday night, June 12, following a long illness. He was the son of the late Wilson and Elizabeth McWhirter Thompson, and had spent most of his life in the Mimosa community. He was a farmer, and a member of the Loyd's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, June 12, at 2:30 o'clock, in the Wilson Funeral Chapel. Services were conducted by Revs. Vernon Rich, of Huntsville, Alabama, with burial in the Kelso Cemetery.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. George Kent, Mrs. Clark Miles, and Miss Ada Florence Thompson, all of Lincoln County; six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Jim Thompson of Lincoln County.
