There are no dates on this marker, but he was from the Civil War era. There is a WW2 flag holder at his grave, but that is incorrect.
His stone reads:
Abner Conkle,
Co. F
36 Ohio Inf
His name was listed as being honored as a Veteran of the Civil War on Memorial Day in 1914.
If I have the correct Abner Conkle he was married to Eva Adella Cleveland and they had a daughter Mamie Helen Conkle, born 1882 in Coalville, PA, and died 1942 in Hominy, OK.
He enlisted in the Union Army in Ohio on March 15, 1865. He was an oilman and died of appendicitis at age 65.
