Ray Arthur 80 of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in Wichita Falls.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church of Burkburnett with Rev. Don Pellikan officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Goodrich of 1st United Methodist Church of Wichita Falls and Rev. Lydia Pellikan.
Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.
Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2012 from 7 to 8:30 PM at the Funeral Home
Ray was born in Denton, Texas to Russell B. and Thelma (Chastain) Arthur, April 28, 1931 in Denton, Texas.
He married his loving wife of 59 years, July 20, 1952, in Gainesville, TX. He was the owner of Arthur Construction and had a passion for raising cattle and wheat farming.
He was a member of 1st United Methodist Church of Burkburnett.
He was preceded in death by 2 Grandsons, Fredrick Ezekiel Escobedo Frederick E Escobedo and Matthew Scott Arthur Matthew Scott Arthur; his parents, and 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
He is survived by his wife Lucretia Arthur of Wichita Falls, TX.; Son, Scott Arthur of Bedford, TX.; 2 Daughters, Cretia Smyers of Wichita Falls, TX.; Melanie Selvidge and her husband Kevin of Wichita Falls, TX. and their daughter Merideth Ray; 2 sisters, Wilda Greene of Ardmore, OK.; and Jean Hall of Tulsa, OK. and numerous nieces & nephews.
