Arthur died April 29, 1978, after a lengthy illness in Marietta. He was born Dec 7, 1888 in Leon, where he lived his entire life and worked as a farmer until retiring three years ago. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma, Leon; five sons, Adrian and Byron, both of Fletcher, Ray, Wichita Falls, Bennett, Leon, and Jack, Lampassas, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Ouilda Green, Marietta, Mrs. Ester Clark, Houston, Texas, Mrs. Jean Hall, Tulsa, and Mrs. Cecile Sharum, Oklahoma City; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Grandson will serve as bearers.
