Married first Ann Elizabeth Skinner in 1848. Their children are Alexander Kinsey and Alford Washington. He married 2nd Nancy Ann Cade in 1860. Their children are Sarah Ann, William Robert, Green Berry, John Thomas, Nancy OMallie, Ivy Bailes, Mary Elizabeth, Lucy Ella and Susan Beatrice. Appointed postmaster in Newton, TX and served from 1861 to 1862. Was 2nd Lt in Company F in Concord Tx, ca 1863. Elected Newton County Commissioner in 1866.
