Kitsie, an average tiger cat with white markings, was found on our property on a cold winter day, Feb. 1969. Brought him inside for a bowl of food and was going to put him out again in the morning. By then he had us attached to him, and stayed on for over 19 years. Kitsie would sneak outside when he got the chance. He made his way to the corner lot and lost himself in the brush, looking for birds etc. His favorite thing to do, was trying to squeeze into boxes that were too small for him. He loved raw fish that was just caught, and being cleaned. He would run up your back trying to get it. He wiggled his toes for you, and gave kisses. He got along so well with the other cats in our household, plus the family dog. During the trip, when we moved from New York to Nevada, he sneaked out of our motel room, and was lost for over an hour. There he was, sitting under a bush watching us search for him. It was a 2,600 mile trip in the car, and he did well for a 12 yr. old cat. Egypt rode in the moving truck. They were best buddies. He adjusted to the desert climate quickly, and learned to walk on a leash. Kitsie was affectionate, and loved to lie in warm places. The most startling thing of all about Kitsie was, he started to say my name "Carole" clearly. Have it on audio tape. He was friendly to all animals and people. He died of liver failure at home. He is sadly missed.
