Claremore, OK- Funeral services for Gerry Crittenden will be held on Saturday, January 21st, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home at Tahlequah, OK. Interment will follow at Long Prairie Cemetery in Kansas, OK. Visitation will be Friday, January 20th, 2012 from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for Gerry include his four sons, Garrick Crittenden, Granville Crittenden, Gary Crittenden, Jerrold Crittenden, cousins Frank Fields and Troy Fields, and Deacon George Cochran. Honorary pallbearers include his grandsons, his brother, Larry Crittenden, his nephews, and the congregation of Long Prairie Baptist Church.

Gerry Crittenden was born on August 10th, 1945 in Chewey, OK the son of Sampson and Polly (Fields) Crittenden. He attended school in Kansas, OK.

On October 13th, 1963, he exchanged wedding vows with the love of his life, Anna Lou Peters at the Illinois River Baptist Church. This union was blessed with seven children as well as 48 years of happiness. Gerry was a carpenter by trade. Whenever he wasn't working, Gerry enjoyed spending his free time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved to spend the afternoon fishing. He was always up for a game of marbles or watching football, supporting his favorite team, OU.

He was happiest surrounded by family and attending any activity in which his grandchildren participated. He and his wife, Anna, attended hundreds of games over the years cheering on their kids and grandkids. Gerry was honest and hard working. Although quiet in nature, he had a great sense of humor that brought so many wonderful memories to those who had the pleasure of his company.

The Long Prairie Baptist Church was very important to Gerry. He became a deacon on September 16th, 1978, and dutifully served the Lord and the people of Long Prairie for 33 years. He loved praising God by attending Gospel Singing all over Oklahoma and other events when asked to participate.

The Lord called Gerry home from his labors on Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 at his home in Claremore, OK. Gerry was 66 years old. He will be greatly missed for all the love and care he has shown his family and friends, these many years.

Gerry is preceded in death by his Mother, Father, his grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Those left to celebrate his memory include his loving wife Anna, of the home. His loving children include Garrick and Billye Crittenden of Tulsa, OK, Granville Crittenden of Coweta, OK, Gary and Jana Crittenden of Wichita, KS, Jerrold and Vaniece Crittenden of Catoosa, OK, Alicia and James Hubbard of Tulsa, OK, Jennifer and Mike Seiler of Tulsa, OK, Heather Crittenden of Claremore, OK and one brother, Larry Crittenden and wife LouElla of Kansas, OK. Gerry's legacy lives on in his grandchildren, United States Marine Corporal Alex Larios , Adam Crittenden, Zachary Crittenden, Travis Crittenden, Gage Crittenden, Benny Crittenden, Austin Seiler, Ethan Crittenden, Keith Crittenden, Caleb Crittenden, Tanner Crittenden, Kyle Crittenden, Reilley Crittenden-Seiler, Kade Crittenden, Elizabeth Crittenden, Raemi Crittenden-Seiler, and Isabelle Crittenden. Gerry also leaves five great grandchildren, Ivan, Shawn, Alan, Johnnie and Paisley Crittenden, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones.
