Im Joseph Carl Wright. I was born in Galveston, Texas on August 4, 1928 to LaSalle Anthony, Sr. and Bessie Noah Wright. I was educated in Galveston public schools and graduated Class of 1948 from Central High. I entered the United States Army and served in the Korean War. I was honorably discharged on December 14, 1951. I then met my wife of 54 years Dorothy Mae Brown and was married on February 5, 1953. In 1957 we were blessed with a baby boy named Carl.
I lost my beloved wife Dorothy on May 23, 2007 and my baby brother on March 22, 2010. I am also preceded in death by my brother, LaSalle Anthony Wright, Jr. and my three sisters, Blanche Bryant, Vera Carr, and Dorothy Franklin and both of my parents. I am survived by my son Carl Bruce Wright and on sister Norma Rae Wright Dillon.
Services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Bay Area Funeral Parlor. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am followed by the home going celebration at 1:00 pm. Burial will be held at Houston National Cemetery Houston, Texas.
