Allen Wayne Wright, 71, departed this life in earth on Monday, March 22, 2010. He was born in Galveston, Texas on December 26, 1938, to LaSalle Anthony and Bessie Noah Wright. He was the youngest of seven siblings. He was known by his family members as "Papa" and his grandchildren called him "Pawpaw." He attended Galveston ISD schools and graduated Class of 1956 from Central High. Allen accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Jesus is Lord Word of Truth, La Marque, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother; brother, LaSalle Anthony Wright, Jr.; three sisters, Blanche Bryant, Vera Carr, and Dorothy Franklin.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Dobbins Wright; daughter, Sheila Wright Roundtree (Milton); three sons, Brandon Wright, Kelvin Wright (Valerie), and Jeffery Wright (Makiesha); brother, Joseph Carl Wright; sister, Norma Dillon; 6 grandchildren; 6 godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Bay Area Funeral Parlor. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by the home going celebration at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park, Hitchcock, Texas
