PACOLET MILLS -- Joel Ray Ledford, 68, of 116 Ledford Circle died Feb. 27, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. A native of Central, S.C., he was the son of the late Hardy Calvin and Annie Mae Wright Ledford. He was retired from the Army 25th Infantry Division, Strategic Communications Command, and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He was the former owner and operator of the Radio Shack of Spartanburg. He was a member of the National Association of Uniform Services, the Retired Enlisted Association and a member of the Fairforest Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Davis Ledford; three daughters, Debra Kay Haselden of Spartanburg, Sharon Marie Robbins of Boiling Springs, Jan Cherie Whitworth of Roebuck; one son, David Ray Ledford of Chesnee; four brothers, John B. Ledford of Blacksburg, James E. Ledford of Alexandria, Va., Calvin H. Ledford of Spartanburg, Jack M. Ledford of Gaffney; two sisters, Ila Mae Carver of Clermont, Ga., Patricia L. Crawford of York; and nine grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by Dr. James C. Hilton. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Korean War Memorial, c/o Veterans of Foreign Wars of S.C., P.O. Box 331, Columbia, S.C. The family is at the home.
